I believe art has the ability to speak to the world without any words.

It reaches into the quiet corners of the human soul.

I’m a self-taught artist based in Cape Town and my journey began in junior school when I was asked to draw a still life. That’s when I first picked up charcoal and thought, how could something so raw and so messy, be so precise and emotional? I was hooked.

For years, art was my escape. It became my way to drift inward and express what I couldn’t always explain. I loved the challenge of taming the chaos of charcoal to reflect something intentional and meaningful. I’ve always been drawn to its honesty and intensity. No colour, no filters, just contrast, texture and truth.

After taking a long break from creating, I’ve returned with new energy and a clearer vision. I’m more intentional now. I want each piece to carry a message, something that sparks thought, invites conversation and speaks to the deeper parts of what it means to be human.

My recent work explores ideas of time, legacy, silence and imagination. One drawing shows a tree growing inside an hourglass, titled Legacy. It’s about the idea that we each have our moment to create something lasting and something meaningful, before our time runs out.

This was the drawing that revealed to me that my playground is surrealism, and creating works that hopefully help you explore more of who you are and what makes you, you.
