JANUARY 2020 SOLO EXHIBITION
On the 25th of January 2020 I had my first solo exhibition. I had been playing with the idea for about 2 years and then decided in November 2019 that I was going to go for it. I could not have imaged a better evening with the most amazing people.
I had about 120 guests who came out to support me at the Purple Rayn Boutique Hotel in Constantia, Cape Town, South Africa. A mixture of friends, family and art enthusiasts but all incredible people.
Guests were welcomed with a complimentary drink at the entrance as they entered the exhibition area upstairs overlooking the forest. Once everyone had arrived I gave a short welcome and thank you speech to everyone who had helped me plan the event, supported me along the way and encouraged me to pursue a career in art. This was basically everyone at the event.
Once that was done everyone mingled in their groups chatting, laughing and sharing thoughts on my works, all whilst enjoying the snack platters and drinks from the cash bar.
One of the highlights for me was having the Four Paws Animal Welfare Foundation there. I have recently partnered with them to help in their efforts to protect and save our beautiful wildlife. I am very excited to have raised money for their cause as 20% of all sales on the night have been donated to them and their amazing cause.
The evening was a big step forward in my career as an artist and I am very grateful for the support from everyone who have helped me along the way.
Thank you to the Purple Rayn Boutique Hotel for an incredible venue I could not have imagined a better place to host my exhibition. There was plenty of space to fit all the guests which made it easy to move around and enjoy all the aspects of the night. The food was amazing and most of all everyone was very friendly and helpful.
It was a pleasure to work with everyone.
I hope to do it again soon.
